Meeting – 18th April 2023

During the 17th century, the Newmarket Road, used by gamblers and members of the court, became so infested with highwaymen that a pitched battle occurred between robbers and the outraged local people.

Mr John Sutton will present the fascinating story of Newmarket and Highwaymen during the reign of Charles II on Tuesday 18th April at 7:30pm in The Stables Community Centre, 65 High Street Newmarket, CB8 8NA.

An illustrated public talk open to everyone. Tickets are available at the door £3.00.
