I am a Newmarket Historian and have been researching RAF Newmarket for a number of years with my area of interest the Special Operations flights in and out Newmarket that flew secret missions in and out of occupied territories dropping and picking up agents and dignitaries to bring to UK. I have also done local archaeology around Newmarket, finding Iron Age, Roman, Saxon and later artefacts and have built a collection of artefacts and research. I got into history and archaeology through my late grandfather a founder of Mildenhall Museum and he was involved in archaeology for over 50 years.
